BUSINESS ASSET FINANCE

When a business closes, the kit goes cheap.Be ready to buy it.

Closure and liquidation sales move fast. Seek pre-approval for a kitchen, workshop or warehouse purchase, and understand your proposed budget before bidding.

Buying at auction, live or online

Understand your proposed limit before the sale opens. Check the lender’s conditions and the payment deadline before bidding on single lots or a whole line.

Buying from a dealer or direct from a business

Discuss finance before negotiating with the seller. A proposed budget helps you plan, but payment depends on the lender’s final approval.

  • From £26,000
  • New or used
  • No broker fee
  • No obligation

Pre-approval sets out a proposed budget, not guaranteed funding. Finance remains subject to the asset, your business and the lender’s final approval and conditions.

Where to buy business equipment at auction in the UK

These auctioneers sell the equipment of businesses that are closing, restructuring or in insolvency, mostly through weekly online sales. Agree your limit first, then watch their catalogues.

Hammer Ready is independent and not affiliated with the auctioneers listed. Always check each sale’s terms, buyer’s premium, VAT and collection deadline.

Business asset finance FAQs

What does pre-approval give me?

A facility letter setting out a proposed budget for the equipment. This is not guaranteed funding: the lender must approve the purchase and its conditions must be met before payment.

Can you finance used equipment?

Yes. Most used business equipment can be financed. Lenders look at age, condition and resale value, so older kit may mean a shorter term or bigger deposit.

Can I finance a whole lot, like a full kitchen or workshop?

Yes. We can finance a complete line or fit-out as one purchase, not just individual machines.

Does it work for online auctions and dealers?

Yes. Pre-approval works for live auctions, online timed sales, dealers and private sales from a business.

Do I need a deposit?

Usually, yes. The calculator shows it based on the asking price. The final amount depends on the equipment and your business.

Does the finance cover the buyer’s premium and VAT?

The buyer’s premium can often be included. VAT is normally paid up front or covered by a short-term VAT loan, depending on the lender.

Liquidation sales often want payment in days. Can you move that fast?

Once you’re pre-approved and we have the invoice, the lender pays the auctioneer direct, usually within the sale’s payment deadline.

Is there a fee for pre-approval?

No. We’re paid by the lender, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
